Review - High Grade Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt FA-78 Full Armor Gundam.

This is the HG 1/144 scale model kit Thunderbolt FA-78 Full Armor Gundam of produced by Bandai 2016 Japan.

Photo of the final product.

Just before I share few things about this kit, firstly, I personally like reading comics of this kit series. At the moment I have Vol. 1 -4 and read them all. By reading all those actions makes me want to have kit of my own. So here I finally have Thunderbolt!

The design of this kit is spectacular and settle details (that’s how I prefer). The color scheme seems tough on its own and dramatic. All the weapons, armors and shields are beyond badass, except for the backpack though, it’s huge and ugly at some point. Sorry to say, I hate it a lot. The weight of the backpack isn’t that heavy but I love how the thruster are being positions perfectly and rectangular tanks!

The overall articulations are fine; only tinny tiny problems, few loosen joints are noticeable. Especially when I am about to make poses of this kit, it tends to fall down by gravity in such it gives pretty useless to deal with furthermore I ended up displaying it too simple (stand). It took me about 2-3 hours to fully assemble this kit (no big deal). Nubs are noticeable though, I have a lot of work cut off for this one and as usual me, I hate stickers (specifically wordings and logos) given regardless how coolest they are. I wish Bandai could change water decals instead stickers because my opinion to that, I believe all builders/modelers, they prefer long lasting marks instead stickers. Water decals are much cleaner process and long lasting.

Overall, this kit is the amazing! Nothing more to complain about. Good kit and I prefer High grade than Master grade for few reasons.

Here are few photos pose from this kit!

Do I have plans for this kit in future?
Hell ya! About probably 2 months ago, Bandai has announced premium product for very limited kit that I dream to have as my collection; HG 1/144 Full Armor Gundam Blue & Green Ver. Both of these kits are in my bucket lists. Sadly, it comes only 500 or 1000 units only (major defeated).

So here is what I can think of, I will transform my Thunderbolt kit into my dream kit. With huge modifications and time processing in order to make this happen. I am planning a slow WIP, although both (Thunderbolt and Full Armor Blue/Green Ver) design have a lot of similarities but redesign concept is time consuming. I will make it happen!

That’s all for my reviews for High Grade Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt FA-78 Full Armor Gundam.

Upcoming event: I will update new version of my logo (blog) soon! More simpler and clean edge!

Again- Sorry for the delay, I am now officially freedom to say the least. Just last week I ended my second last semester (final year). Well not literally free, I have one huge project to deal with for the upcoming project that will be happen next year April 2016!

Review – Gundam Haul October 2016

I do not normally talk about my month of haul but there is something that I need to talk about and just to share my interest to you guys. As for my first haul review; it is a month of Iron-Blooded Orphans haul!

So the first list box is Mikazuki Augus – Figure-risebust. Bandai 2016. What I love about this figure, well of course, I’m a big fan of this character from IBO Series. I wish he would suit up his uniform so it looks smarter and cooler as he is otherwise, I’m fine with half naked lol

Second, my Non-Grade 1/100 Gundam Barbatos produce by Bandai 2015. I am dying to assemble this kit like ASAP. I skip High Grade Gundam Barbatos because I know the parts are likely similar to MG and the price aren’t that huge gap. So why not jump to this kit for start? It’s a must for me to have the main character on each of Gundam series. The leading character constantly the admiring and coolest Gundam ever. I am sure you all do too, right? LOL

And just release few weeks ago, BB #401 Gundam Barbatos DX. Bandai 2016. I love chibi Gundam and that makes, I love double more to chibi Barbatos! I didn’t take the extended one because all extended has these huge gap/hallow from the back (I don’t like that = more work and putty to do), so I waited for this kit long time ago and finally here!

Lastly, my favorite design of all IBO series - High Grade Graze Custom. Bandai 2016. I have the option set #02, parts that can combine with Graze Custom. I can’t wait to build this kit. I love the color, the head concept looks unique and I’ve seen a lot of builder did custom on their Graze which kinda make me jealous to the point where it challenges me to custom my Graze. I will make sure this happen(maybe) soon this November.

Oh I’m planning to create another post event apart from Review, Haul and Work-in Progress; I’m thinking to share my favorite builder/modeler which inspires me with their individual skills and techniques << I will make it happen for sure!

So how’s my October Gundam Haul? Does it excite you all?  I am!

That’s all for my reviews for month October - Gundam Haul

Review - High Grade Carta’s Graze Ritter

This is the HG 1/144 scale model kit of Carta’s Graze Ritter produced by Bandai 2016 Japan.

Photo of work-in progress snap for review.

Firstly I would like to apologize from the previous post that I promise to review with the hint ‘Thunder’ from Thunderbolt Full Armor Gundam. I will make it happen soon. I didn’t have time for blog due to assignments keep on piling up non-stop, so I am back!  Anyhow, on to my review this month October, I would like to say this kit as a whole is amazing. I love the colour, it matches well with the black parts and it is simple. Affordable price at ‘Gundam Kit Kitani’ store. During my work in progress, I didn’t have problems with cutting and removing nubs because the runners is soft and I barely used my force to do it so it save my time!

Few problems that I find it annoyed especially the head unit. The top green part of the head tends to lose easily. When ever I want to posed the kit, it fell off and over times I just ignored and leave it as it is. Not just the head, but the side skirts too.  It’s killing me sometimes. The bottom part, honestly I am not a fan of high heels because I don’t. Yes, it made a bit tall and suit overall design but IDK I hate it.

Well enough with bad side, onto the good part. The articulations are… (hands down), nothing to complain much about it. The backpack looks great and so the legs. This is my third kit assemble from IBO series, although they kinda have the same inner frame but I never get bored building them. Plus, there aren’t much stickers for this kit, that is because it’s very simple (in a good way) for every kits that I have assemble, I never applied stickers because it will look spoil in a way LOL I would rather paint it or using markers, just to make it look blend together. The shoulder pads look interesting although a little difficulties posing this kit while settling the pads.

Overall, this kit is the coolest kit I have ever built. By far the simple yet it has unique design from IBO series. Yeah, I like it a lot.

Here are few photos pose from this kit!

I kinda like this pose because it shows everything features about this kit – the movement of balance.

Here is the medium close-up.

Repaint this kit? – I don’t know.
Custom this kit? – I don’t know too. Maybe LOL if I have time! ATM it’s a tide schedule for my studies.

That’s all for my reviews for High Grade Carta’s Graze Ritter.

Again- Sorry for the delay, I couldn’t catch up my assignments lately LOL so for this post, I manage to do it for an hour (is at least I can do).

Repaint – SD 1/200 RX-78-2 Gundam.

This is the SD 1/200 scale model kit of the RX-78-2 Gundam produced by Bandai 2009 Japan.

(Before Repaint)

First thing first, I would like talk about the actual SD kits before I move to my final repainted SD kit. This SD kit itself is kinda shorty to be honest. Initially I didn’t think to repaint it but since this is my first SD RX-78-2 Gundam kit, might as well repaint it. I was gona chose SD Gundam Extended kit but I couldn’t find one in Brunei (Oh well). So I bought this kit instead at Gundam Kit Brunei. Thanks for the cheapest price! BND15! I learn that the Extended kit got the lowest for BND9 only!!!!! Damn!

I’m a huge fan of RX-78-2 Gundam, It’s a lost for me not having all grades kits of RX-78-2 Gundam. I’m left with Perfect Grade which soon to be mine! Oh, and Gundam Converge too! Right now in store is Gundam Converge #03 Origin Ver. I should get it next month if I’m lucky!

So, the articulation are the same as the usual SD kits. Especially the legs part are horrible. A bit pose-able and nothing fells off while moving around here and there which is ok. When it come to weapons for SD scale, majority are so thin. It’s like way out off scale. I wish it could have been a bit bulky and add coolness touch like what Chibi figurines has offer. Well that’s what you can get for SD! Plus the colour is boring, dislike the pearl white on this kit, which doesn't really appealing much. And that shield, too plain gray.

SD RX-78-2 Gundam art box. Compare to the first SD Gundam, this one is thumbs up!

Onto repaint work-in progress.

Very beginning of WIP starting with the head. Clearing all the nubs and the V pin needs to be sharped.

Here is the before V pin.

After V pin by sanding and filing. Nice and clean sharp point there.

Then after clearing nubs and seam lines removed, on to paint job!

After painted. Truth to say I hate masking tape and the hardest yet to overcome the process. You need a lot of patient to do it tho, or else.. you will destroy everything!

Final product! After applying decals! Here’s the front view. Basic spray paints I used; White, Yellow, Blue, German Gray and Red, all from Tamiya Brand.

A bit of side view here. Close up decals.

I used German Gray for the weapon.

Back view with more decals on the backpack.

Here’s number 03 for this kit.

More close up look.

Here’s one of the pose I can present to you guys. I really loved repainted Ver of this kit. Everything in this kit spray/hand painted, ain’t no sticker apply other than decals. I try to duplicate as equal as the one on the art box. Overall experience and work-in progress was fun to build but a bit struggle along the way and the whole process took me almost 2 weeks!

I’m planning to do more repainted SD kit this year. I might try to go for  Extended kit. For now I couldn’t think of what extended kit to choose. Barbatos?

That’s all for my reviews for Repainted SD-78-2 Gundam.
