When/Where/How/Why/ I started into GunPla?

When?

I started into GunPla community this year 2015 August.

Where?

Mainly inspired from Social Media (Instagram and Facebook)

How?

I was inspired by a lot of International builders (GunPla community), show-off creative designs and skills on their Gundam kits.

Why?

It brought me realize that doing such activities can lead to creative-mind where I can just simply unleashed my ideas and never afraid to experiment it (I mean there’s no right or wrong here). With that, it made me realize I can do custom kit (and why didn’t I do this before? Mainly because of $$$ and lack of confidence).

But first thing for sure,

You need something that inspires you, something motivates/supports you before you begin customize/build your kit. I’ve the best support from love of my life (friends and family). That’s what I did before, something to lighten up your mood and spirits.

For my first custom build HG 1/144 RGM-79FP GM Striker seeking probably around 30ish inspiring photos from any source of research.

Majority I’m looking for the custom design and color scheme that suit for the theme of your choice, but it’s entirely up you, really. 1 of the challenging during the WIP (work in progress) was the chosen color scheme.

I mean.. although I’m an Art student but

choosing colors for the competitions is something you need to concentrate a lot!

The confirmed colors; Brilliant Blue, Matt White, German Grey, Light Grey and Yellow (p/s the spray paint for each is $9.00 so expensive!). The selected colors inspire from RX-78 Gundam itself (covers the head and body part), the legs and arms I decided to do off white (inspires Unicorn Gundam like) with partly light grey just to deliver two tones. I don’t like when all part of the legs are the same color, would be awesome to have more than two tones of the same color (example, if you wana go for red legs, add light red to show some of the contrasts and probably add a touch of yellow on some part to give the attentions).

In designing my kit, I always thought of evolutions, I imagine myself upgrading my kit into fully defense, making it sort of bulky armor (bulky like is my style) and adding more weapons is one way improving your kits look! 
And don’t forget adding thrusters. Some kits come with backpack right? Especially all GMs kit, customize it and see how it goes. I made mine.

That’s how I delivered my kit.

So enough said, I probably talked about everything, now as promise, here are my custom kit build for nearly 2 months from snapped-build, custom, paint and finalize with top coat (Matt).

HG 1/144 GM Gyeoul (Winter in Korea)

This is just the beginning for my hobby. One step at the time, slowly processing to be the title as the real GunPla Modeller. Long way to go but I will never afraid to do any experiment.
